Who we are

The Mill House Hotel, Maldon Road, Langford, Maldon, Essex CM9 4SS, is responsible for the personal data collected through this website. You can contact us about it by email at info@millhousemaldon.co.uk or by phone on 01621 841 518.

What we collect through the contact form

When you send us a message, we collect your name, email address, your phone number if you give it, and what you write. We use this only to reply to your enquiry. Our lawful basis is your consent, which you give by ticking the box on the form, and our legitimate interest in answering questions about stays and meals.

The form is run by Lumara Forms, a contact form service operated by our web developer, Lumara. It stores a copy of your message in its database, emails it to us (delivered by Resend), and sends a mobile notification (via Pushover) so new enquiries are seen quickly. We don't use your details for marketing, and we don't sell or share them with anyone else.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiries for up to 12 months, then delete them. If you stay with us, we keep booking records for as long as the law requires for tax and accounting.

Website analytics

With your permission, we use Lumara Analytics to count visits and see which pages are useful. It sets no cookies, but it keeps a short-lived session identifier in your browser's session storage, which is cleared when you close the tab. It only runs if you accept analytics when you first visit, and you can change your choice at any time. Our cookie policy lists exactly what is stored.

Links to other websites

Our pages link to TripAdvisor, Google Maps and local attractions. Those sites have their own privacy policies, which apply when you visit them.

Your rights

You can ask to see the personal data we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, or withdraw your consent. Email or call us using the details above. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
